Jocelyn Hagen is composing an extended secular work (3-4 movement, around 15 minutes) for The Women’s Chorus of Dallas and string quartet.
Conductor Melinda Imthurn and I have selected winter-themed poetry by Minnesota
poet
Julia Klatt Singer, a regular
collaborator of mine, and the piece will be premiered in December, 2015, in
Texas. (I set four of Julia’s poems in my most recent song cycle
Kiss, and her poem “how to
live in the modern world” inspired
soft blink of amber light, premiered last June by the Houston
Chamber Choir.)
